Shout out to our friends at the Treasure Coast Cycling Association for sharing an excellent article called "10 Rules to Group Ride Like a Pro" in their recent newsletter. Trigger Point Therapy: Integrative Health for Athletes
We like to call trigger point therapy ‘pre-hab’ rather than rehab. At OYM, we tend to see many runners come in with injuries from the knees down such as plantar fasciitis. Our cyclists complain more about injuries from the knees up, like hip, thigh and IT band tightness. Trigger points are localized areas of inflammation in tissue which may be the result of muscle overuse, mechanical overload, lack of exercise, improper physical conditioning, chronic stress, joint problems or vitamin deficiencies. The Super Bowl of Chili ("The Club Ride of All Club Rides")
It's on! On Sunday, February 2nd at 8 AM, we ROLL! Since year one, we've been hosting this annual family-friendly event immediately after our regular OYM Club Ride. We'll offer our typical 30 or 50 mile ride options to work up your appetites. After that, it's a head-to-head chili cook-off competition with major bragging rights to the winner along with some pretty cool prizes (to be determined).
