Painful Plantar Fasciitis? OYM Can Help!
Do you sometimes experience considerable foot and heel discomfort with your first few steps out of bed in the morning? Have you recently increased your running program significantly? If so, you might have plantar fasciitis.

This can lead quickly to chronic foot problems if left untreated. Runners are particularly susceptible to inflammation of the plantar fascia due to repetitive stressful pounding of the foot in a dorsiflexed position. Early morning pain is caused when the already irritated plantar area contracts even further during sleeping hours. Barefoot early morning steps place a forceful stretch upon this tightened tissue particularly when taken on a hard tiled floor. Weight gain, incorrect shoe wear and arthritis can also contribute to this syndrome.
