Team in Training Fundraiser Event

Join us on Friday evening, August 23rd to celebrate the life of a treasured cycling friend by supporting the 25th anniversary of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training.

Dana was scheduled to ride in The Nation's Triathlon on September 8, 2013.

Tragically, Dana lost his life this past July in a terrible bicycle collision with an animal that darted out into the spokes of his front wheel. He was catapulted over his handlebars and onto his helmet so fast that he had no time to brace himself for the fall.

It was through cycling that Dana met his special friend, Kristen, who is a Team in Training Coach. Kristen has committed to carrying on Dana's fundraising efforts in his honor. She has stepped into his role as "Team Lead for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Nation's Triathlon Team." Bravely, Kristen has also taken over his fundraising commitments and is now training with Dana's team.

Kristen shares, "I am blessed to have this opportunity for exercise and camaraderie to honor Dana's mission to cure the blood cancer that took his father."

We loved Dana, too. And we want to do all that we can to help Kristen succeed in this tribute to his life.

Join us in the shop from 5 - 8 PM for an evening of sharing stories about our good friend. We'll have raffles, door prizes, special auction items (like bicycle fittings, tune ups, and Computrainer sessions), snacks, drinks and lots of fun. We'll even have an Eddy Merckx road bike up for auction. All proceeds will go to Team in Training in honor of Dana.

Love, Peace and Bicycle Grease,

Matt & Julie
