Smart Ride 2012

This is our second year riding and fundraising and the ninth year for the ride. What's unique about this ride is 100% of the money raised goes to charity. Not one dollar of it is used to produce the ride, unlike the majority of benefit rides. Also, as a rider/fundraiser we get to choose which local benefactor gets our money. This year, seven AIDS Service Organizations in Florida will benefit. In the past eight years, over a cumulative 16 riding days and more than 1320 miles, The SMART Ride has raised and returned more than $3.3 million!

In this video from The SMART Ride website, a few of the thousands of people involved in the second largest HIV/AIDS ride in the nation share why they participate or ride. Together, we will be bicycling 165 miles from Miami to Key West on November 16 - 17th, 2012. 

If you are interested in joining our efforts to raise money for The Palm Beach County SMART Riders, then come by the shop for pizza this Friday night 10/26/12 between 5 and 8 pm. Everyone is welcome and a donation would be appreciated. We'll have an assortment of pizzas (veggie options, too).
