May is National Bike Month.

It's a great time to bring awareness to an issue many cyclists and pedestrians face on a daily basis; motorists who fail to share the road. Will you help us get the word out?

Did you know that Florida law requires motorists to leave a minimum of three feet of space between their cars and a cyclist regardless if there is a designated bike lane or not?

Learn the laws regarding your responsibility for safe cycling as well at Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow:

AAA and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Share the Road Cycling Coalition and CAA have put out some great Share the Road PSAs that help personify the many cyclists on the road:

They are also responsible for this awesome Infographic which you can download and share on your own social media right from their website:

In fact, we're so committed to bringing awareness to this critical safety issue that we've devoted our May Healthy Living column in Florida Weekly to it. Watch for that to be out soon next month!

We're all sharing the roadways, therefore we need to respect one another.

Love, Peace and Bicycle Grease,

Matt & Julie
